Welcome to New Egypt Agway

First I would like to thank you for visiting our website. Second I would like to give you a little history about my journey to this point. My name is Jamey Bohonyi. My wife Cheryl and I are the sole owners of Bohonyi Corp/New Egypt Agway. I started with Agway in October of 1991 when I was a senior in High School through a work release program. I continued to work at Agway while I attended Mercer County Community College. There I studied Plant Science and Ornamental Horticulture. After graduating I attended Agway’s management training program. Over the next couple of years I held a few different jobs with Agway. I was a Department Manager in the Lakewood NJ store and then the store manager in New Egypt and back to Lakewood as the store manager. I also held a market managers position for a short time.

In the end of the year 1999 Agway decided they no longer wanted to own retail locations. They still wanted to be a wholesale supplier to Agway stores but decided the stores would be better off owned by individuals. Store managers were given the first opportunity to purchase select locations. Cheryl and I were lucky enough to have the opportunity of a lifetime. We received many rejections from banks but with a little luck and some creative financing we were able to secure an SBA loan and jump headfirst into self employment. Fast forward to the present to see many things have changed and many have stayed the same. The changes are positive. We have purchased the old “creamery” lot behind Agway and built a new warehouse on that site to accommodate some of our growth. We are currently constructing another warehouse on the original Agway site so that we can improve traffic flow and provide a better experience for our customers. This project we expect to have completed by the Summer of 2007.

With the changes many things have stayed the same. The small town service people have come to expect at Agway is as good as ever and we strive to be even better. We are a true feed store. Our roots are in Agriculture and even though agriculture in NJ is changing we are accommodating its needs. Although we are primarily a feed store we also service the small animal and pet market, we also are a serious lawn and garden supplier. With the roots of Agway and Agriculture deep in our bodies and minds we can relate to our customers wants and needs as they relate to our business. As much as our state changes we feel that Agriculture will always have a significant place and we plan on being there to be a major partner now and in the future. Our Mission: To be the best feed store in the entire state of NJ. To never forget our roots but not be afraid of change. To provide superior customer service and product knowledge in all of our major departments. To continue to support Agricultural education in any way we can. To create a work environment to promote gratification and promotion. To be grateful to be free and for the opportunities that our great country allows. To be happy.

This is who we are and where we are going. We are a work in progress. Stop by and see some of this in action. We thank you for all of your past business and look forward to the opportunity to serve you in the future. When you stop by ask to see some of our specialists:
